Who we are

The British Indonesian Lawyers Association (BILA) is a non-profit organization established by legal practitioners qualified in both Indonesia and the UK. Our mission is to connect Indonesian advocates and British solicitors, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and the advancement of legal practice through research, public discussions, and professional events.

At BILA, we believe in the power of cross-border partnerships to create meaningful impact in the legal field. By building bridges between the two legal systems, we promote innovation, uphold professional standards, and contribute to the development of law in both countries.

Widjojo is a dual-qualified lawyer specialising in corporate and finance. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Common Professional Examination) from Bournemouth University and an MSc in Finance from SOAS, University of London.
Ira Eddymurthy

Ira is an Indonesian advocate with over 30 years of practising experience. She completed her LLM at the King's College London with a specialisation in International Corporate and Commercial Law.

Bagus is an Indonesian advocate and a Chevening scholar. He completed his LLM at the University of Manchester with a specialisation in International Business Law.

Jean Renaldy is an associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice, based in Singapore. Indonesian by background, he has spent the past 8 years practicing in London advising clients on cross-jurisdictional matters involving the US, Europe, Africa, Middle East and APAC. Jean has also spent time working in our New York office and on secondment with the legal team at private equity sponsor Antin Infrastructure Partners.

Currently a second seat trainee solicitor in a magic circle firm in London, Wyncent did structured debt and real estate finance in his first seat and is currently sitting with the private equity team.
